New Day Supported living focuses on providing and maintaining good standards of care in our supported living provisions for young adults with low to high level needs of support from the age of 16- 18. Our services are offered under a residential umbrella with a service that is operational 7 days a week for 24 hrs. a day.

We believe that with support and partnership working, young adults can be empowered and prepared to face any challenges in future through direct support to build a foundation, access equal opportunities and exercise their rights. It is important for New Day support staff to work with clients in a person-centred way to meet their needs, wishes and beliefs.

Aims and Objectives

New Day supported living service aims to deliver around the clock accommodation, social and well-being support for children within the West Midlands and surrounding areas. Staff employed by New Day will deliver support through person centred, strength-based models to meet client’s needs and achieve aims and objectives such as:

 

Provide a safe, nurturing environment with high standard of care through our supported living service in the community with on-board support staff. Provide consistency, positive relationships, mutual respect to grow and develop

To meet all our clients’ needs incorporating their culture, ethnicity, religion, self-image

  • Deliver services in a non-discriminatory manner
  • Encourage and support clients to access education, employment, health and training opportunities, welfare rights
  • Encourage all clients to develop their personal and social skills
  • Support clients to adopt independent daily living skills to promote independence and choice
  • Encourage clients to participate in decision making, regular reviews to monitor progress
  • Key-workers allocated for 1:1 support session to recognise individual preferences
  • To encourage and support clients to access activities in the home and local community to meet physical and social needs
  • To work in partnership with the local authorities, heath agencies, social and educational services, advocacy, families and carers for our clients to reach their full potential.
  • Support and encourage clients to maintain contact their family and friends
  • Treat all clients with dignity, respect and encourage them to make decisions about their own lives
  • Offer training to manage challenging behaviours and recognise risk of exploitation
  • Offer staff training, development opportunities and brilliant staff incentives to retain staff to provide consistent care to our clients
  • Continue to further develop our services to meet changing needs for our clients

Housing Type(s)

Our homes are fully furnished meeting HMO standards. We aim for our properties to be in the local community to maintain connections, minimise travelling expenses and easy access to services. Staff will be allocated to match the client’s needs and interests.

Our staff are all trained and certified to match the standards of skills required to provide care for vulnerable young adults including managing care plans and reporting.
